We travel by Greyhound Bus from Memphis to New Orleans, it is a 10 hour trip that makes stops in Tunica Junction, Clarksdale, Cleveland, Greenville, Rolling Fork, Vicksburg, Natchez and Baton Rouge. We change buses in Baton Rouge for the final leg and it is 9pm by the time we arrive at our hotel: The Hampton Inn – French Quarter. Unfortunately when we arrive there is no record of our booking and there are no vacancies. This was incredibly frustrating as we were all tired hungry, dying to shower and get to bed. The Hotel manager managed to get us a room at the Parc St Charles nearby where we had to walk a couple of blocks and we organised for our travel agent to pay for this as they had made a mistake with our booking. That night we ordered dinner in from Cafe Roma.
