After gorging ourselves on pastries and fondue at the Cosmetiques De France event we made our way across to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for the International Makeup Artists Trade Show, more commonly known as IMATS. I practiced a lot of self control this year and just picked up a few things:

There was a deal going on at the Makeup Forever stand where you could purchase the Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Makeup Forever HD Primer and Makeup Forever HD Powder in a set for $109AUD. I tried the products out that evening for the Lust Have It! event but I think I’ll need to use them a few more times before I decide how I feel about them.

Mehron Tattoo CoveRing – $15AUD. I have a tattoo that I’m going through the costly and painful process of having removed and so I thought I’d try this product out in the meantime until I can scrounge the funds together to have it completely removed.

Royal and Langnickel Detail Liner Brushes – $2AUD each. I loved this so much when I picked one up last year that when I saw they were only $2 each I decided to pick up five this year and I’ll include one in my next giveaway.

After shopping I went upstairs to the Royal and Langnickel press event where some refreshments were on offer along with massages and OPI manicures. I also spent some time chatting with Hollywood makeup artist Kevin James Bennett who has created his own brush line with Royal and Langnickel called [R]evolution.

Ling playing with the brushes, Kevin James Bennett the creator and Kitty showing how perfectly balanced the brushes are.

Michelle from Labmuffin had a gorgeous OPI mani.

The girls from Makeup Utopia also handed out some wonderful goodie bags containing a selection of lovely products from various sponsors. I’ll be reviewing each product individually so keep an eye out for some upcoming BBU posts!

Look who I found! Lilit from Makeup and Macaroons, she is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever laid eyes upon and she’s also a really lovely person.

Here I am overlooking the event, so many makeup addicts in one place!

Thank you to Royal and Langnickel for the fantastic time upstairs in the media break room, it was a great place to unwind and relax after shopping up a storm at IMATS.

I don’t think I actually got a photo of that mani haha! *saves* Great IMATS haul, I’m really going to need to research next time, I was completely overwhelmed by choice… lucky I found out that Scotty’s (the place selling Ben Nye and OCC Lip Tar) is ten minutes’ walk from my office ;)

The photo turned out really nice and please feel free to use it, there’s a few things I’m wishing I had picked up on the day but I’m glad I was able to practice some restraint!

  3. Megan you’re far too kind! I felt like such a dag, it was the first time in ages, since the baby actually, I’d semi-glammed up, felt weird :)
Hope you had a great day! xo
