I love cream eyeshadows, they’re so quick and easy to use and work great as bases for powder shadow and I love the textures in general so when I spotted the Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad in Va Va Va Bloom for $9.95 at Gloss I decided to pick it up to see how it went.

First of all I love the way this is packaged, each eyeshadow well has a clear window at the bottom so at the top of the compact you are looking at the shadows from beneath so it always looks neat and brand new. When you open the compact it also has a little mirror inside. Loved the packaging even though it can be a little hard to open I prefer that over something that is loose and opens too easily. The quad contains a stunning plum, a gold, a purple and a silvery pink which all swatched beautifully and have a gorgeous shimmer to them, however when I wore them on my eyes they crease badly and within a very short period of time. Layering a powder shadow over the top did seem to help prevent them from creasing for a little bit longer but they still creased eventually. I experimented with using Too Faced Shadow Insurance which is my holy grail eyeshadow primer and they still creased. I was so disappointed with how much these creased as they are the most gorgeous colours and had the potential to be amazing if only they were more long lasting.

I really can’t recommend these eyeshadows, they just crease far too easily and there are so many better cream eyeshadow options out there.

I have to agree with you. I have this in a batch of purple shades ( orchid I think), and it creases no matter what. Even with shadow over it, there was nothing I could do to stop it from creasing.
