I recently ordered one of my all time favourite products the Luxury Camellia Oil from Okoii Natural Skincare and they were kind enough to include a 13gm sample pot of the Ocean Secret Advanced Masque in the package which I decided to review.

This is a murky green colour and I found it fairly easy to apply despite it’s thick texture. The smell isn’t the most pleasant and reminds me of salty clay. Once applied it does immediately start to harden and needs to be left on for between 10 and 15 minutes. I found it hardened so quickly that it started to feel very uncomfortable so I sprayed rosewater mist on my face to try and stop the tightening feeling however after only 10 minutes it was rather unbearable and so I had to remove it. Removing it was a bit difficult and you need some sort of cloth rather than just trying to use your hands. I used my Kuu Konjac sponge to remove and it was perfect for this purpose since it’s gentle while still providing mild exfoliation.

This photograph of the pot was taken after one use and there is still a lot of product left so a full size pot would be very long lasting.

I really loved the effect this had on my skin the next morning, my skin was clear and free of any congestion, the goal of this mask is to clear the skin and detoxify it from the everyday chemicals we’re exposed to. Since this is such a deeply working mask it only needs to be used 1-2 times a week. Since I found it quite strong and uncomfortable to wear I’ll only use it once a week but it is definitely worth it when you wake up the next morning and see the effects.

This product was a free sample I received with a purchase, if you’d like to order one they are available from the Okoii Website and cost $72AUD for 75g of product.

I don’t mind masks that tighten, I find those the most effective so I guess that is why I can put up with it;P Getting them off is always a pain, but I still enjoy my regular face masks! The scarier they look, the better!

It worked really well so I have to put up with the tightening sensation, maybe I’ll get used to it after a few more times!
