The Greek Islands, Santorini in particular are the perfect destination for some sunshine, relaxation and cocktails not to mention that perfect holiday tan. Paula Theodore has a created a range of organic tanning and body care products designed to give you that holiday glow. I’ve done a Q&A with Paula to find out more about this organic, nourishing and cheeky brand.
BITS: What inspired you to create an organic skincare line?
PT: The inspiration of Santorini Sun came from two things: A deep fascination with the connection between nature and beauty, and being disillusioned by the products available on the market. On one end the natural products that were available didn’t deliver results and on the other end there were products that contained harmful ingredients. A product line that filled both of these voids had to be developed.
BITS: How did you come up with the brands cheeky logo?
PT: All the current natural and organic brands on the market have very conservative branding and or reflect an aspect of nature, I believe the serious aspect of this doesn’t appeal so much to the younger consumers who really should be encourages to use natural products on their skin. We therefore decided to use a logo that was a little cheeky, fun and fresh and innovative.
BITS: I notice your products use mainly orange oil, what are the health benefits of orange oil in skincare?
PT: At Santorini Sun we love Sweet Orange Oil – my Grandfathers Orange Orchard farms may have contributed to this! We use it in most of our products, the health benefits of anything nature produces has multiple functions. Sweet Orange Oil offers a natural glow, rejuvenates and tones dull skin and the beautiful aroma promotes happiness.
BITS: How many products are there in the Santorini range?
PT:The range currently has available 9 products: Sunless Tanning Lotion, Sunless Tanning Cream, Face Tan, Island Goddess Body Shimmer, Everyday Gradual Tan, Booti Beauti Cellulite Treatment, Sweet Orange & Almond Salt Scrub & Sweet Orange Body Lotion, Salon formula spray tan.
BITS: Do you plan on expanding your range with any new products?
PT: We will definitely be expanding the range to include baby and mens lines, along with a very exciting anti-aging oil ( Nature’s Facelift) to be released next month. As long as the inspiration is alive we keep making pure, natural and effective products. At Santorini Sun we share a holistic approach by incorporating natural ingredients to heal and prolong youthfulness.
