When the warmer weather starts to roll around I prefer to use much lighter products on my skin as foundation can feel far too heavy as it heats up. My foundation of choice is Shiseido Sun Protection Compact which is a powder foundation however I prefer getting some added moisture from a liquid product. Julie from Me, My Best and I was kind enough to send me a bottle of Aveeno Tinted Moisturiser in Medium which she didn’t want.

The Claims:

The only tinted moisturiser with clinically proven Total Soy Complex to brighten and even skin tone while providing SPF 30 sun protection. Natural, light-reflecting minerals and lightweight coverage blend away skin imperfections and immediately bring out skin’s natural radiance. Choose from two luminous shades to blend seamlessly with your skin: Fair to Light and Medium. These elegant formulas provide extraordinary natural radiance and coverage at a much smarter price than the leading department store brand. This moisturizer is also oil-free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.

This tinted moisturiser has the consistency of a creamy foundation, it is very easy to apply I just use my fingers. The coverage is very light and doesn’t cover any redness or blemishes, that isn’t a problem for me as I use my Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer over those areas that need a little more coverage. I wouldn’t use this if I was going out in the evenings because I’d prefer a heavier coverage but this is perfect for work since I’m outdoors a lot. This doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all on my skin and has a very soft scent that reminds me very much of sunscreen. I go over this with a little bit of powder just to mattify and set it in place. The packaging is fantastic with a pump dispenser that can be opened and closed to prevent any product spilling when packed away for travel. The only thing I dislike is that a little bit of the product remains trapped in the pump between use and hardens so that must be pumped out and cleaned away to get to some fresh product.

I’ve been wearing this product in some of the hottest climates that I fly to, the top end of Western Australia and find it feels very comfortable on my skin, like I’m wearing nothing at all which is what I want in my summer face products. I have found that this can feel greasy when I’m outdoors and sweating so touching up with some powder is a must to stop you looking shiny. I’d been using Hissyfit Tinted Moisturiser since I went away to Europe in August but I find it feels a lot more greasy on my skin and is quite thick to apply. The Aveeno one is far more suitable for me and once I’ve used up this bottle I’m going to repurchase another, although I’m sure this one will last me through to the end of summer!

The Aveeno Tinted Moisturiser (75ml) is available from Priceline for $22.99AUD.

*This product was received as a gift from Me, My best and I, thank you Julie!

Oh, this is interesting! I didn’t know they had a tinted moisturizer. It sounds really light and easy to wear.

Aveeno products are nice, generally! I haven’t tried this one yet I do normally prefer a tinted moisturizer over foundation.

    Great review, darling!

Thanks Maria, this is the only product by Aveeno I’ve ever tried but I wouldn’t mind trying a few other products from the brand.
