My first stop when I entered IMATS was Illamasqua, it’s a brand that I love but have trouble getting my hands on since it’s unavailable in Perth so as you can imagine I went a little bit nuts at the Illamasqua stand.

Powder Blushers – Disobey and Tweak

Powder Eyeshadows – Matter, Taboo and Mean

To be honest I’m kind of underwhelmed by the powder eyeshadows, I was expecting much better colour pay-off from Matter and Moan.  Marvel is quite nice though though, it has a little shimmer running through it. Disobey will be a great matte bronzer for summer, Tweak was one that scared me when I first swatched it since it leans quite red on me but it’s really nice sheered out so I decided to go for it.

Powdered Metal – Ether

Pure Pigment – Marvel

I remember that I first met Priyanka at the Illamasqua stand and we were discussing the Powdered Metal in Ether and the Pure Pigment in Marvel. Priyanka was the voice of reason saying, they both look the same so what’s the point of buying both?  She’s right, they do look the same only Marvel is a lot more pigmented since it’s meant to be used on the eyes. I’m still glad I own both though, since I’ve been wanting a powdered metal to use over matte blushes for some shimmer. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!

I expected Shatter to be a lot blacker than it is, I have yet to try it on my eyes yet so I’ll have to see how that goes and report back with my findings.

Precision Ink – Alchemy

Liquid Eyeliner – Shatter

All in all I wasn’t that impressed with the Illamasqua products they had available at IMATS. The whole range wasn’t available and I’d been really looking forward to seeing the Theatre of the Nameless collection as well as the new Skin Base Foundations. The presentation wasn’t that great either with only a trestle table with the products on it and when I went to buy my products they only had two girls working there and they were flat out. When it was time to pay there was quite a long queue happening. I’m sure next year they’ll be a little more prepared and have a better set up and in the meantime I’ll have to get my Illamasqua fix in Melbourne.

Wow, what a huge haul! I think I went to the Illamasqua stand too late, all I got was a powder blush…

I got a little bit carried away :( I’m ashamed to admit that all I’ve used so far is the Betray blush and powdered metal, love that stuff!

  2. I always skip over the Powdered Metals when I’m at a counter for some reason, I guess it just didn’t occur to me to use them as highlighters! Which is doubly bizarre given my newfound highlighter obsession….

Anyway I need Ether, Alchemy, Taboo, Tweak and Disobey :D

I got into them when I was at the Illamasqua counter the MUA put it on over a cream blush, she said it was a good way to take your look from day to night, I didn’t think much of it and didn’t bother to buy it however when I got home and saw it in the mirror it looked so gorgeous yet subtle. So glad I got my hands on this one IMATS!

  3. I have that precision ink too! I like it in black better though. Haven’t tried their liquid eyeliner since I was blown away by the precision ink when I went to oogle over Illamasqua last. Mmm.

I wish I had a black precision ink, this colour doesn’t really blow me away but I love the brand so much I’m so happy to now own heaps of their products since I can’t get my hands on them in Perth!
